Discussion Sewage Capacity

Dana distributed a memo regarding a discussion she had with Steve Vock of Civil Engineering Associates.  The essence of the memo is that Steve feels there is “plenty” of capacity on the parcel.  A comprehensive study of the capacity on the east side of the road wasn’t done (to his knowledge); he didn’t do test pits everywhere on the site, but he is willing to share any information he has.  He also said Craig Heindel may have some older but more extensive information based on his evaluations for previous developers.  Steve is willing to perform a comprehensive sewage capacity analysis, but can’t estimate how much this would cost until he has more information about what the town is looking for and how much information can be obtained from other engineers that have done work on the parcel.

Bill said that he put a call in to John Pitrowiski of Trudell Engineering, which has done some work on the parcel in the past.  He was not able to reach John but expects to be able to in the near future.

Discussions of Planning Process

The committee began amending the Planning Process Outline that was submitted by Jim and John at the last meeting.  Several ideas from The Community Planning Handbook were incorporated into the outline.

John said that it’s important to him that the public is involved throughout the process.  Bill had several ideas about this.

Jessie (wielding Nancy’s scissors) cut and pasted the outline into an amended format.  She will distribute this by e-mail, and obtain feedback from Committee members, and will then provide the Committee a final version by e-mail prior to Dana and Jim meeting with the Vermont Land Trust and the Preservation Trust of Vermont.

Because this will be done by e-mail, the meeting on January 15th will not be needed.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Dean Bloch
