WEST CHARLOTTE VILLAGE PLANNING COMMITTEE

November 14, 2002

Town Hall 7:30 PM

Dee Pierce (Conservation Commission)

John Owen (Affordable Housing Committee)

Dana Farley (Village Resident)

Members absent:       Jesse Bradley (Recreation Committee)

 

Others present:          Dean Bloch, Town Planner

                                    Steven Brooks

 

The meeting convened at 7:30 PM.

 

Dana Farley agreed to be the chair of the Committee (reluctantly).

 

There was general discussion of the role and goals of the Committee, and the need to interface with the Vermont Land Trust and the Preservation Trust of Vermont.

 

Action items:

 

Dana:  Contact the Vermont Land Trust and the Preservation Trust of Vermont to determine their expectations for the Committee and the process, and to determine whether the work of the Committee can focus specifically on the newly acquired property (from Burns), within the context of the nearly complete West Charlotte village plan.

 

Dana:  Contact Jesse Bradley.

 

Charles:  Contact School officials.

 

Bill:  Find existing wastewater analysis information.

 

Dean:  Mail out the most recent draft of the West Charlotte village plan (entitled “Village Land Development and Conservation; Design Concept for West Charlotte” by T.J. Boyle, Goodhue Land Design, Randall Arendt, and the Charlotte Planning Commission, dated October 2002) to committee members that don’t already have one.

 

Dean:  Create map (with assistance from CCRPC and CCMPO).

 

Jim and John:  Clarify process under which the Committee will operate, and determine potential role of facilitator.
